Cycling In The Highlands

With thanks to The Fold and the Fixed Wheel in Bowral

Cycling

There are so many wonderful places to cycle for all ages and stages of fitness. We love the Bowral Berrima, Sutton Forest Moss Vale village loop and of course the stunning Kangaloon Glenquarry rural loop. Or make up your own and enjoy the wonderful Southern Highlands

Walking In The Highlands

Easy

Berrima

Berrima river walk

For an easy lovely walk next to the Wingecarribee river with a bit of History along the way. About an hour or more if your love history.

Stone Quarry Walk

For a  short and lovely walk next to the Wingecarribee River and only 9 mins drive from Moss Manor, this is a must . An added bonus is Berrima is a beautiful village abounding with lovely cafes, art galleries and cute stores. Don’t forget the Lolly Swagman ( 116 Old Hum Highway Berrima) where children and adults alike flock. Our kids now adults still talk wistfully about the Lolly Swagman.

Bundanoon

Erith Coal Mine track

Whilst in Bundanoon make your way to the Morton National Park down Church St . You can park there but remember to pay the $8 parking fee. It is a great walk with water falls stepping stones and a metal ladder. Sounds tricky but is a very cool track and not hard. Recommended

Grand Cannon Lookout Loop

Easy and absolutely stunning views over Morton National park particularly in the early morning when the sunrise makes it look tinged with gold. You can add the Fairy Bower Falls on as well for a slightly longer walk.

Fairy Bower Falls

A lovely easy friendly track with a little bit of everything. Make a morning or afternoon trip to Bundanoon and Exeter and include this walk and a coffee at the Exeter General Store or any one of the cafes in Bundanoon.

Robertson

Griffith trail Loop

Family friendly with some rocky sections, 9 km and takes up to 3 1/2 hours depending on fitness. But very lovely with fabulous views and only 15 mins to Barren Grounds form Robertson down Jamberoo Mountain rd.

Waterfalls In The Highlands

Belmore Falls

These are really very beautiful and accessed via Robertson. If you love waterfalls and who doesn’t, these are really worth a visit.

Carrington Falls

After visiting the Belmore Falls and you are keen to see some other spectacular falls, go back through Robertson to the East and down Jamberoo Road to Carrington Falls.

Easily accessible from the car park, there is a short boardwalk to a couple of lookouts that overlook this towering beauty of cascading water. With views of the valley sprawling as far as the eye can see, this is a great stop to enjoy some breathtaking scenery and take some pics.

Fitzroy Falls

Only a short 15 mins derive from Moss Manor for a great walk on a well maintained pat though some spectacular rainforest to stunning waterfalls. There is also a café at the start. We really recommend you give yourself a couple of hours to visit Fitzroy Falls.
